DynaTorque Company Profile

Since 1974, DynaTorque has been manufacturing manual gear operators and specialty products for use with automated valves. From its origins as the Westran Company, DynaTorque has built a reputation for superior quality workmanship and attention to detail that results in valve actuators, handwheels and specialty products that consistently outperform and outlast the competition.

Every phase of the manufacturing process requires exact planning to continually meet customer requirements. Submittal drawings identifying all details of each order are furnished for customer approval. Materials sourcing is performed to a rigorous set of approval standards and several pre-production and production process inspections serve to further guarantee the absolute quality and reliability of every part in a DynaTorque actuator.

Typical machine activities for manufacturing gear operators, such as hobbing of worm-gear teeth, boring and keying of worm segments, broaching operations, drilling, tapping and others are all performed to tight tolerances and are done in our Michigan factory (click here for a Virtual Plant Tour) to a planned time schedule in order to meet prescribed customer delivery dates. Assembled units are randomly selected and tested to insure meeting customer requirements. That's why DynaTorque can guarantee performance standards like a maximum of 1/8-turn of backlash, greater wear life and more reliable valve actuation.

The results are that DynaTorque actuators rank among the best in the world for performance, reliability and durability. For those valve manufacturers who demand that level of quality, there is no substitute for DynaTorque.

Phil Vaughan and Mike Mitchell Bring 60 Years of Valve and Automation Experience to DynaTorque!

Phil Vaughan returned to DynaTorque in late 2000 as President of the Valve Components Group (DynaTorque and E&S Valve Components, Inc.).  Mr. Vaughan had previously been the National Sales & Marketing Manager for DynaTorque from 1993 to 1997.
